Bigfoot Willows

Bigfoot Willows are one of the many willow hybrids that exist. What sets this hybrid willow apart from a lot of the others is its adaptability and vigor. This may be the fastest growing tree in the United States! With typical first year tree care, this hybrid willow does not seem to suffer from transplant shock.

Another advantage the Bigfoot Willow Hybrid has, is its long growing season. This quick growing tree can start growing in early spring and continue to grow into fall, yet still has the ability to harden off before winter. Growth rates of over ten feet in a year is common in the early years, and some locations with ample moisture and long growing seasons have been able to achieve 20+ feet of growth in a year!

The more care you put in your Bigfoot Hybrid Willows, the faster you will see results, and since these fast growing trees do grow so fast, it will beneficial to fertilize these hybrid willows. In drier locations, it will help to have irrigation running on them, at least while young. These trees can attain some drought tolerance once their root system is deep enough.

The 3 main uses of the Bigfoot Willow Hybrid in the landscape is for a fast growing shade tree, quick growing privacy screening, and windbreaks where fast cover is needed.
